To succeed, you really need good preparation. And that's why in our team, we really spend a lot of time making really good plans for the new season, because if the plan is really well thought of and well documented, that gives a lot of direction for the new season. And even if there's a lot of changes, the big plan is there and you always know where to go.

The way we prepare has changed a lot over the last years. We have so much more data now available to analyze. So that means we spend much more time evaluating the old season and then use all this data to make new plans for the new season. And of course, to process all this data, to draw the right conclusions, to use the right conclusions for the new season.

I think preparing a change in any system, whether it's an IT system or a sports event or in a company, I think the processes behind it are all the same. Of course, there are people who are a little bit resistant to change. Other people are really open to change. But in the end, it's about honesty and trust and making sure the leaders in the system are well prepared, they are knowing which way they want to go, and they are very well able to also bring over that message.

Yeah, we use data, we use AI, we use a lot of different digital things, let's say, to prepare our season, but also just to work in our daily practice. So with AI, for example, we are now learning to see how our training plans actually are effective, and maybe we can even be more effective in the future.

And then of course, we use the control room, which we have introduced in the last season, also to use data and make better decision on spot. So during the race, making sure the right information is there and we can make the right decisions with the best data. While the data-driven approach has changed a lot in the last few years, and especially the connection between the performance team and the race coach team has increased a lot. There's a lot of communication in between, and actually all our race strategies are based on data, performance data. So first we make sure the performance data is there, and then we start making strategies with the right riders on the right moments.

Actually, all the strategies now are performance driven, whereas in the past it was mostly tactically driven or just conservative. So yeah, performance data plays a big role now.
